The MASK

They talk to you for they need you then,
They walk with you for they are alone.
Sleepless they become and they wake you then,
To reassure them, that they are not alone.

“I am”, “I need”, “I want”, they chant
Opportunistic they are for that’s their game,
That’s all they know coz that’s what they want.
Selfish they are and that’s their aim.

“I’m a friend, coz I need you today”,
“Who are you now; do I know you”.
Well that’s the mask they wear any day.
And that’s the way they’ll treat me and you.

Their problems are huge and issues are big,
They need them solved by you and all.
Your pain your ache is for you to dig.
They wouldn’t care to know them at all.

Memories for them are about themselves,
They forget too soon, coz they never cared.
Relationship is not among their believes
Never presume they’ll come to your aid.

They wear a different mask each day,
It’s tough to gauge what is on their mind.
In this era a true friend is rare and a golden ray,
If you have one it’s your greatest find.

All this said and done, are you wearing a MASK,
If yes! Then it’s high time to remove the same.
Open your mind and take it to task.
And approach the world for all the glory and fame.
